K Beauty in ANZ

Supporting Korean skincare brands with market positioning, retail development and local marketing in Australia and New Zealand.

K Beauty in ANZ

Frontier Marketer supports Korean skincare brands entering Australia and New Zealand by connecting market research, product positioning, pricing, retail development and local marketing. The programme translates each brand’s product strengths into a practical approach to local consumers and retail buyers.

Project at a glance

  • Clients: BOSONGY, REJUCHIOL and Éclat du teint

  • Industry: Beauty and skincare

  • Markets: Australia and New Zealand

  • Services: Market-entry strategy, brand positioning, pricing, retail development and local marketing

  • Project scope: A target-channel map covering 17 retailers and ecommerce platforms across three channel categories

The challenge

A strong product portfolio does not automatically translate into a clear position in a new market. Korean skincare brands entering ANZ need to establish which products to prioritise, how to communicate their value and which channels fit their category, pricing and stage of development.

Retail development adds further requirements. Buyers need a commercially relevant proposition covering product selection, consumer fit, pricing and margins, supported by a credible plan for building local demand.

The task was to connect these decisions into a coordinated market-entry programme.

Our insight & strategy

Frontier approached market entry through two connected workstreams: developing the commercial proposition for retail channels and building relevance with local consumers.

Market assessment informed product positioning, hero-product selection and pricing. These foundations then shaped channel proposals, buyer outreach and local marketing activity.

Each brand required its own approach. BOSONGY’s scope focused on ANZ market entry and retail development; REJUCHIOL’s work centred on retail positioning, pricing and distribution opportunities; Éclat du teint’s support covered positioning and channel development across professional and beauty channels.

What we delivered

Market assessment and positioning

Frontier reviewed product ranges, competing brands, category trends, local consumers and channel fit to shape each brand’s market-entry direction.

Product selection and commercial planning

Hero-product selection, wholesale pricing, recommended retail pricing and channel margins informed proposals tailored to different retail opportunities.

Retail and distribution development

The programme included retailer identification, buyer outreach, product proposals, sampling, meetings and commercial discussions, matching opportunities to each brand’s category and development stage.

Local brand building

The marketing scope connected distribution planning with influencer seeding, KOL and KOC campaigns, PR, social media, exhibitions and launch activity.

Ongoing market feedback

Retailer communication, consumer response, pricing feedback and sell-through considerations informed subsequent planning and channel development.

Project scope and progress

Frontier mapped 17 target retailers and ecommerce platforms across three categories:

  • Major retail and pharmacy

  • Specialist beauty and K-beauty retailers

  • Ecommerce platforms and marketplaces

This is a map of market-development opportunities, not a count of confirmed stockists or secured distribution agreements.

The programme brought positioning, commercial planning, retail outreach and local marketing into a coordinated approach. Confirmed listings, sales and sell-through results should be reported separately as those outcomes become available.

What made the difference

Commercial and marketing decisions were connected. Product positioning, pricing and channel selection informed both retailer proposals and consumer communication.

Each brand received a distinct market approach. The work reflected differences in product range, positioning and channel suitability.

Support extended beyond introductions. Frontier’s scope included preparation, outreach, local marketing and continuing market feedback, helping brands navigate the practical work of entering ANZ.
